Tips for Getting Out Of Bed in the Morning

tips to getting up in the morning

It’s understandable to struggle getting out of bed in the morning, especially when you have nothing making you or you’ve had little to no sleep. However, when you have to get up for work, an event or another significant reason, it can sometimes be very important to get up and get ready. Therefore, we have comprised some tips to be able to get you out of bed and ready for your day. Take a look.

Thermostat Timer

Many people struggle in the mornings simply because their bed is comfortable and warm whilst the room temperature out of the bed is not. Leaving a comfortable warm bed for a cold room is never going to be a motivation thought, so why not simply set your thermostat to warm the room up before you wake up. If you are getting out of bed to a warm room, you are not going to feel as uncomfortable leaving your bed and in turn its going to be less than a struggle. Try setting your heating to turn on half an hour before you wake up so you are waking up to a warmer environment.

Motivation

Nobody is going to enjoy getting out of bed if they are not motivated and wanting to. Waking up because you have to is one thing but waking up because you want to is something else entirely. On big days where you need to wake up earlier than usual, why not try rewarding yourself for getting up. Having things such as your favourite breakfast, an amazing coffee, or something else you love waiting for you when you wake up is going to make you want to get out of bed because you want to and not because you have to.

Place Alarm Away From Your Bed

Placing your alarm away from your bed or just outside your bedroom door will mean that once it goes off you will not be able to turn it off until you are out of bed and in turn, you will not be able to fall back asleep. You will have no choice but to either lay there with an annoying loud repeating noise or to get up and turn the alarm off. Whereas if you left the alarm at your bed you could simply press snooze and sleep in or fall back asleep and oversleep. It seems a no brainer when you think about it. Forcing yourself to get out of bed in this way is always a very efficient method.

Drink a Lot of Water the Night Before

Native Americans used this tactic so that they would wake up as early as possible and be able to get up during the cold winter months. It works simply through making you need the toilet in the early hours of the morning and in turn, you will have to get out of bed to go. Then once you are up and out of bed, you simply do not get back into bed. It does have its risks of making you need to go to early or simply not working at all, but after a few attempts you can usually get the balance right to be able to pull it off time and time again. Then once you have mastered it, it becomes very effective.

Change How You Sleep

When it comes to struggling to get up of a morning, many people turn to trying to get more hours sleep to ensure they are wide-awake in the morning, which works just fine sometimes. However, there is a better way to be able to ensure that you can get up in the morning, instead of focusing on quantity of sleep, try focusing on quality. Sleeping for a long time is good and everything but if you can get a deeper sleep you will feel a lot more awake in the morning. To be able to put focus on your quality of sleep there is two very efficient ways to go about this, no distractions and a comfortable bed.

Ensuring that your phone is not flashing and vibrating through the night, the TV is turned off an there is nothing that’s going to wake you up or prevent you drifting off will significantly improve the quality of your sleep, this in turn helping you wake up fresh in the morning. Then there is the other option of opting for a comfortable mattress, being comfortable in bed will help you drift off faster and give you a deeper sleep, which in turn will leave you feeling awake in the morning.  Take a look through our range of mattresses if you want to be able to find something right for you.
